The Sisterhood of Motherhood

Friends of mine will tell you that I have used the phrase "Sisterhood of Motherhood" for a long time. Unfortunately though, I can't claim royalties since I stole it from a beautiful welcome and piece of advice given to me by a dear friend and twin mom extraordinaire, Jessi. However, I think Similac may owe her something (see below!).

As cliche as it might sound, motherhood is truly the best sisterhood when you find women to usher you in and embrace you fully. I always try to warmly welcome new moms in my life - whether friends or clients or strangers - to the most wonderful and wild club they'll ever have the honor to join.

But sometimes, motherhood feels isolating and ugly and judgy and lonely because we as moms can be far to critical, far too cold to our ourselves and our fellow moms. And that has to stop. It has to stop.

I cried at a commercial this morning...a commercial by a formula company. It is perfect. Please watch it. And be kind to yourself and another mom in your life today.

Love + Light,

There's something going down on the playground. Don't they know that everyone has their own way of parenting? But when it comes down to it, we're all on the same side. Help us put an end to the judgment by sharing this video with every parent you know.
